We’ve been talking about Mayberry Comes to Scottsburg 2026 for a few months now. While an event like this is being planned, it may seem like nothing much is happening. Rest assured, nothing could be farther from the truth. The team organizing this festival has been hard at work planning the schedule, confirming venue availability, contracting with special guests, arranging for special hotel blocks of rooms, soliciting sponsors, and so much more.
Our team has been meeting weekly since the first of the year to plan and discuss festival activities. So many wonderful people are working hard to create a fun weekend of Mayberry themed events for you to enjoy. Everything will be family friendly and geared towards all ages. There’ll be great food, music and perhaps once in a lifetime chances to meet cast members from The Andy Griffith Show and other Mayberry celebrities.
So, what about you? What have you done to get ready for our great Mayberry weekend? I hope at a minimum you’ve blocked the dates off in your calendar. I hope you’re looking at travel arrangements. I hope you’re stashing away a few pennies to help support our event at the auction, take home great goodies and memories from our vendors, or by buying show tickets. I hope you’re also researching which of our great local restaurants and shops you’ll visit while you’re in town. Scottsburg and Scott County are just full of opportunities for wonderful food, crafts and historical sites. Most of all, I hope you’re planning to be here in Scottsburg in June!
